Postman Pat and the Jumble Sale is the fifth episode of Postman Pat Season 3. It was written by Diane Redmond.

Plot[]

It's Recycling Week and Nisha is organizing a Jumble Sale. Meanwhile, Pat is collecting things from various people for the sale, and the children are busy planting an apple tree.

Trivia[]

Doctor Gilbertson's coffee is actually recording tape.
The pole and head of Alf's scarecrow is the same scarecrow from Postman Pat's Windy Day and Postman Pat's Foggy Day.
The broken frying pan from Postman Pat's Thirsty Day, Pat’s tuba from Postman Pat and the Tuba and the toy mouse from Postman Pat and the Greendale Rocket are amongst the stuff for the jumble sale.
Here are four props from Cosgrove Hall's other show "The Wind in the Willows" that feature in this episode.
- A picture from Mole as Napoleon Bonaparte from the episode "May Day" that can be seen on the table of items in the jumble sale.
- The Chief Weasel's black top hat from the special "A Tale of Two Toads” and the episode "Toad: Film Maker" which can be seen in the jumble sale.

One of Ted's computer boxes from Postman Pat and the Robot is used for Ajay and Nisha packing some of the items from the jumble sale away.
Pat breaks the fourth wall at the end.

Goofs[]

At one point after Pat has left the post office, Jess is not in the van.
Doctor Gilbertson is on Nisha's list even though she has nothing to give to the jumble sale, while Mr. Pringle is giving his old clock to the jumble sale, but he is not on Nisha's list.
As Dorothy complains about the crows, a bit of moss can be seen rustling on the wall.
Pat should have taken his hat off when he went into the church.
At one point, the tool boxes can be seen in the back of the van, even though they are meant to still be at the station at this point.
In a distant of PAT 1 driving across the countryside towards Thompson Ground, Jess can be seen sticking his head out of the window even though Sara is now sitting in his place.
In the last scene at Thompson Ground, gaps can be seen between Dorothy's hands and arms as she shoos the crows.
On BBC iPlayer, the subtitles misspell Mr Pringle’s first name as Geoff instead of Jeff. Also the subtitles misspell Charlie’s name as Charley.
